In traditional Chinese medicine, general practice is called “internal medicine” and was one of a number of departments in ancient medicine, the other departments being acupuncture, gynaecology, paediatrics, external medicine, and massage.
General practice includes herbal or acupuncture treatments for such things as constipation, urinary tract infections (including interstitial cystitis), overactive bladder, pain from many causes, IBS, indigestion, insomnia, sleep apnea, vertigo, chronic fatigue, chronic obstructive pulmonary disorder (COPD), rheumatoid arthritis, and so on.
(See the scientific research into the Chinese medicine treatment of constipation, UTI, interstitial cystitis, pain, IBS, indigestion, insomnia, sleep apnea, vertigo, chronic fatigue, COPD and rheumatoid arthritis).
The conditions listed above are the problems we see frequently, but of course it is hard to list everything. If you do not see your particular problem mentioned in the list, contact us to see if we can help, or if we could recommend another clinic that may be more appropriate for that specific thing.
